For Immediate Release: Sun Cabs Return to Service: DC Taxicab Commission Vacates Wheelchair Accessibility Suspension

On Friday, August 7, 2015 the D.C. Taxicab Commission fully restored Sun Cab's operating authority allowing all its drivers to get back to work. Taxicab Chairman Ernest Chrappah also lifted DCTC orders to cease and desist and suspension orders associated with alleged non-compliance with wheelchair accessibility requirements.

Sun Cab president Hailu Teklerberhan said “Sun Cab respects the rights and dignity of persons with disabilities and is committed to providing safe, convenient, accessible transportation for persons with disabilities.” Teklerberhan explained, “wheelchair accessibility is a top priority at Sun Cab.” 

Sun Cab has been a good neighbor to the citizens of the District of Columbia for 31 years. It's impeccable record of compliance with D.C. laws and regulations speaks for itself. Sun Cab will continue to serve the residents of the District with transportation service that benefits all people.
